HOUSE POLICY

The Bardon Bowls Club Inc. will provide a safe and friendly atmosphere for community members to meet and socialise in a responsible environment.

Responsible Service of Alcohol & Unduly Intoxicated & Disorderly Patrons

• Management encourage staff to be trained efficiently and effectively for their job

• All front of house staff will be trained in RSA

• A register and copy of Statements of Attainments by Staff are kept by management

• Management constantly reinforce RSA principles and practices in everyday trade

• Management support staff who practice and enforce RSA learning

• Unduly intoxicated patrons will not be served

• Management support staff who do not serve unduly intoxicated patrons

Bardon Bowls Club practices Responsible Service of Alcohol always and reserves the right to refuse service to any guest who behaves in an intoxicated manner or who are disorderly. Patrons acting in an irresponsible manner are required to comply with staff directives. Non-compliance may result in a BAN from the club. Bardon Bowls Club staff have the right to refuse alcohol to any patron that is unable to present a valid identification card and remove patrons displaying anti-social or disruptive behaviour. We strive to provide patrons with a safe, relaxing and enjoyable environment which encourages their patronage

Minors

• All patrons are required to provide acceptable evidence of age

• All minors under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian AT ALL TIMES in the club house and grounds.

Dress Rules

• Neat and casual attire with footwear to be worn in the club house and grounds at all times. (Flat shoes are permitted on the bowling green)

• Headwear is not permitted inside the Club building except for designated special occasions, medical conditions, or religious requirements.

Conduct of Members and Guests

• All members and guests shall abide by the Anti Bullying and Harassment Policy of the Club.

• No member or guest shall abuse, berate, or argue with any Manager or Staff member whilst in his or her course of duty within the Club premises or any location that be deemed the workplace.

• Club members and guests shall at all times while in the club premises, conduct themselves in an orderly and proper manner and shall abide by any direction by Management. Offenders may be dealt with as per the constitution. Insobriety, blasphemy or obscenity will not be tolerated. Management may refuse to serve any persons who appears intoxicated or is creating a nuisance. The offender may be asked to leave the premises and that re-entry may not be permitted until the matter is dealt with by the Management Board. Subject to the Liquor Act 1992.

Car Parking

• Members, their guests, and bona fide visitors are permitted to use the Club’s car park facilities only while they attend the Club. Vehicles are parked at the member’s/ owner’s own risk.

• Persons parking their vehicle and not using the Club facilities at the time their vehicle is in the car park, may have their vehicle towed away at that person’s expense. The Club will not be responsible for any loss or damages to the vehicle or its contents as a result of the vehicle being removed from Club premises.

Unclaimed/Lost Property

Items of Lost/Unclaimed Property left with the Club will be dealt with as follows:

• Lost Property of value is recorded with a description of the item, the details of its receipt, the date the item of lost property came into the Club’s possession, the date it was claimed and by whom. If not claimed the details of the disposition of the lost property after the expiration of the notice period.

• General lost property can be found in the tub near the entrance of the club.

Theft or Damage

• The club shall not be responsible or liable for the loss of, theft of, or damage to any article left in the Club, and is not responsible or liable for theft or damages to vehicles parked on Club property.

• Theft of Club items by members will result in exclusion of the member until such time as the theft is dealt with by the Management board

Prohibited Areas

• Members and guests are not permitted

• Behind the bar or back of house in the kitchen, storerooms, cold rooms and any area deemed prohibited by the Management board, unless approved by the Club Manager at the time.

Noise

• The Bardon Bowls club complies with the BCC Good Neighbour policy. We respect our neighbours and our members and guests are asked to respect them too. Exit from the club must be quiet, prompt and respectful. No persons are to remain on site after close. It is the responsibility of the event organiser to enforce vacation of their group from the club and grounds at the agreed at the time of booking or at the time of the club closure.

• All live music to be finished by 10pm.

• We monitor entertainment and patron noise to comply with all prescribed noise levels

Animals

No person shall bring a dog or any other animal into the Club premises with the exception of:

• a person with a disability who is accompanied by the certified guide, hearing or assistance dog the person relies on to reduce the person’s need for support; or

• an alternative handler who is accompanied by a primary handler and the primary handler’s certified guide, hearing or assistance dog for which the alternative handler has a handler’s identity card; or

• an approved trainer, employee trainer or puppy carer who is accompanied by a guide, hearing, assistance or trainee support dog.

Smoking Areas DOSA:

• Smoking in the Club is regulated according to the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Amendment Bill 2004. Smoking areas in the Club are designated by signage.

Membership

• All party/group bookings are required to be members as we are a club for members and their guests.

Large Group bookings

Bardon Bowls Club considers large group bookings to be general bookings over 20 people. All bookings must adhere to all the Terms & Conditions.

Function Bookings

Function bookings are a group of guests that are interested in exclusively using a functions space and therefore must meet the minimum spend requirements. All function group bookings must adhere to all the Terms & Conditions and Club House Policy and function hire agreement.

Kids Parties

Subject to availability:

• Friday 2.30pm-4.30pm

• Saturday and Sunday 12-2pm and 2.30pm-4.30pm

• $110 for two picnic tables (up to 20 adults and 20 kids

• $165 for three picnic tables (30 adults and 30 kids) (subject to availability)

• Each table seats 8-10 adults each.

(We don’t book seating for kids as they tend to run around)

• Two hours with 15-minute set up prior to start time.

• Booking fee is converted to a bar tab for use on the day. Please see the bar when you arrive to

activate! (no refunds or credits on unused portions)

• NO BYO DRINKS of any description. We are a fully licensed venue

• LIMITED BYO FOOD. You can bring a birthday cake and limited light snacks only as we have food trucks in attendance.

• Decorating: You are welcome to decorate the table. Please NO streamers, confetti, glitter, streamer poppers, piñatas or lollies in wrappers) and to bring your own tablecloths, but all rubbish must be removed prior to departure. Please help us keep the club and grounds clean by clearing away all rubbish prior to your departure. Additional cleaning fees will be charged for decorations and rubbish left on site.

What if it rains?:

All children’s parties and events will be outdoors only. In the event of rain, the party can be cancelled up to the morning of the event, and the amount of the party held in credit for another date. The club house is not suitable for kid’s parties.

Food:

We have food trucks on site Thursday through to Sunday and we can put you in touch with them if you would like to prearrange your catering or your guests would be welcome to purchase from the truck directly. We also have a selection of snacks available from the bar. We are not a self-catering venue although you are welcome to bring some light snacks/a platter and a birthday cake. Please support the food trucks which are provided for our patrons and guests. The full range of food trucks is listed on our ‘What’s On’ section of our website. Birthday cakes may be put in our cold rooms but please ensure they are securely boxed and named.

Deposit and payment

To secure your function booking at Bardon Bowls Club, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required to

reserve the club function room with the balance due four (4) weeks prior to the event. A $500 room bond required for 18th and 21st birthday parties. Bonds may apply to groups at the club’s discretion. Bonds are preauthorised on a credit card and not charged unless there are damages and breakages. Large groups outside are to remove and clear away all rubbish prior to departure. Cleaning fees will be charged as required.

Function Food and Drinks

Our events manager can work with you on specific drink requests and if we do not have food available via our kitchen or various food trucks, we can explore catering options with you. All food trucks and catering in managed in conjunction with the events manager.

Guest numbers

We require final numbers no less than 7 days prior to the function booking

Cancellations

All cancellations must be made no less than 21 days prior to the booking. If the entire function is cancelled after this time, the Bardon Bowls Club will charge 100% of the agreed function spend to the card provided.

Damages

Any damage to Bardon Bowls Club property made by guests, clients or contractors is the personal responsibility of the function organiser (whose name is affiliated with the function or company). All breakages and damages must be paid for.

Inflatable Castle usage

Bardon Bowls Club has an inflatable castle available for use for children aged 2-10 years, Saturday and Sunday (and other times by special arrangement) Entry is $10. The castle is supervised by a club employee as an added extra safety precaution, however, all children under the age of 18 years of age must be fully supervised by an adult at the club at all times and all safety rules must be observed. Entry of castle by minors at parent/guardians discretion and own risk. Castle safety rules are displayed at the castle and as below.

Weather

In the event of unusual weather patterns, wind, heavy rain fall, lightning or thunder castle will be closed and deflated until deemed safe to use. property (lost property) which will record a description of the item, the details of its receipt, the date the item of lost property came into the Club’s possession, the date it was claimed and by whom. If not claimed the details of the disposition of the lost property after the expiration of the notice period.

• Security

• Any crowd controllers will wear ID as required by the Security Providers Act 1993

• Management only employs crowd controllers licensed under Security Provider Act 1993

• All crowd controllers are trained in the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

• CCTV is operational at entries and exits on the premises and throughout the club

• Crowd controllers will regularly monitor inside and outside the premise including carpark

Public Holiday surcharge

There may be a public holiday surcharge at Bardon Bowls Club on public holidays.
